TINKERTOYS

Tinkertoys were created in 1914 in Evanston, Illinois. Charles Pajeau, a stonemason, designed the toy after watching children play with sticks and empty spools of thread. The early sets had natural wood sticks, which changed to colored sticks in the late 1950s. After 1919, Tinkertoys added an electric motor to the set.
